Seasonal Variations of pH and Dissolved Oxygen Concentrations in Major Rivers of Uttar Pradesh

Abstract The variations in pH and Dissolve Oxygen (DO) concentrations were analysed surface river water samples for three seasons Pre-Monsoon, Monsoon Autumn (January to December 2022) four major rivers Ganga, Yamuna, Gomti Hindon flowing through Uttar Pradesh, India. For Ganga range varied from 7.65 8.47 DO 6.4mg/l 9.26mg/l. Yamuna 7.31 10.5 0 8.1mg/l. showed, between 7.2 8.48, while 0.63mg/l 8.4mg/l. For, Hindon, 6.8 7.66 observed was 1.8mg/l. Correlation Matrix showed a significant weak positive correlation all Pre-Monsoon season, negative lastly season. Dissolved found good concentration almost nilfor Hindon. An increasing trend line constant nil DO. This study helped identify the of DO, also find them samples. will prove helpful designing treatment plants accompanying seasonal variations.
